I am an interventional endoscopist with interest in neuroendocrine tumours.
I had my Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology training at the Uppsala University hospital where I was appointed as consultant Gastroenterologist focusing on endoscopy and neuroendocrine tumours at the Departments of Gastroenterology and Endocrine Oncology. The department of Endocrine Oncology in Uppsala is accredited by the European Neuroendocrine Tumour Society as a Center of Excellence in neuroendocrine tumours.
Then I had my training in advanced therapeutic endoscopy in Canada, initially at the University of Calgary and later on at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, which is one of the sixteen centers of excellence in advanced therapeutic endoscopy in the world accredited by the World Endoscopy Organisation. I got also trained in POEM, ESD, STER and EFTR at Zhongshan hospital, Fudan university in Shanghai, China . Zhongshan University Hospital is accredited as an endoscopy training center by the ESD Committee of Asian Pacific Society for Digestive Endoscopy. I obtained further ESD experience at the University Hospital of Kobe, Japan.
I completed my thesis at the University of Uppsala, Sweden with a topic on neuroendocrine cells and tumors of the stomach. My research interests include the investigation of neuroendocrine cells/tumors of the digestive tract focusing on novel biomarkers and receptors expression, as well as the endoscopic management of these tumors. I published several peer reviewed articles in the field of neuroendocrine tumor disease and I speak regularly on the subject at major national and international conferences (hitherto I acted as invited speaker in >20 countries).
Currently I am affiliated with Karolinska Institutet.

Dr. Panos Economou studied medicine at the University of Manchester in the UK. He graduated with an Honours degree (MB ChB Honours) and went on to specialize in surgery. He taught anatomy at the same Medical School and taught surgery to residents. He became Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS ED) and he currently also a Member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers (MFSTEd). He also became a Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Eng) and he is a Member of the Court of Examiners. In Cyprus he has set up a small private hospital, Saint Anastasios Clinic - Centre for Laparoscopic Operations and General Surgery and he work as a consultant surgeon. His interest in promoting surgical education led me to be elected President of the Cyprus Surgical Society for the period 2004-2006. He currently an elected member of the board of the society. At the Medical School of the University of Nicosia he teach anatomy and surgery and he hold the Chair of the Department of Surgery.

Dr. Renato Caviglia is the Consultant Gastroenterologist at St Mark’s Hospital, London North West Healthcare NHS Trust. He completed his Medical Degree in Faculty of Medicine at University La Sapienza, Rome, Italy in 1993.

Dr. Marco Bianchi is the Consultant Gastroenterologist at San Filippo Neri Hospital, Rome, Italy. He is skilled Endoscopist with particular expertise in diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic and biliary tree diseases.

I received medical degree (MD) from Faculty of Medicine in Prishtina , Kosovo in 1996. In 1998  I started 4 year fellowship program in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Univeristy Clinical Center of Tirana, Albania. I finished the fellowship in 2002. Since 2004 I work as specialist of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Clinic of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, University Clinical Centre of Kosovo, Prishtina. I am chief of endoscopy Unit. During this period of time I have finished many trainings  and  visiting clinician programs likes in: Division of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy in King Khalid University Hospital,Riyadh. SA (2002),  Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. USA (2005),University Medical Centre Hamburg Eppendorf. Germany(2007), Massachusets General Hospital, Boston. USA(2010), and ESGE Fellowship program (month) in Academic Medical Center, Amsterdam, Netherlands.(2013). I am a member of AGA and ESGE.

Dr. Nihar Shah completed his medical training at the Smt.N.H.L.Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad, India. Upon completition of his medical degree, he relocated to the United States and completed his Internal Medicine Residency, Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at Seton hall University School of health and Medical Sciences, NJ. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor, Section of Gastroenterology, in the Department of Medicine at Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall University where he serves an integral role in training medical students and residents in the fields of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He was awarded Certificate of achievement in endoscopy education by American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in 2015 and was also elected as a fellow of American College of Physicians. 

Dr. Michele Obeid completed her degree in Medicine at Lebanese American University in 2017. She currently is Research Assistant in the Oncology department: performing laboratory techniques and working on animal models. Dr. Obeid has worked in Clinical Clerkship in Gastroenterology service at Mayo Clinic Hospital. She is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Lebanese Medical Association.

Dr. Yee is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist working in Hobart, Australia. His clinical interests include viral hepatitis, GI cancer screening, endoscopic mucosal resection, endoscopic full thickness resection and using new devices to improve patient care and patient safety. His current clinical research projects include long-term outcomes of direct anti-viral agent in the treatment of hepatitis C, patient-centred hepatocellular carcinoma screening program and patient perspective on colorectal cancer screening. Dr. Yee has a PhD in health system design and patient safety. He works at the University of Tasmania. His academic research interests involve quality and safety in healthcare. His current academic research projects include big data analytics, virtual and augmented reality, micro-robotics, artificial intelligence and block-chain technology to improve patient care and patient safety.

Dr. Simone is a doctor of the Italian National Police, Ministry of Interior. She completed her MD graduation in 2007. She specialized in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy. Dr. Simone has been working as an Endoscopist, Clinical Gastroenterologist for many years, thereafter as a Nutritionist for specific diet therapy of gastrointestinal diseases. She was attanding academy for doctor of National Police in Rome.

Dr. Walid Guermazi workes as a Gastroenterologist (MD, PhD) in Djerba Island Hospital. He is a Quality manager with PACS. He has basic medical study and 4 years of speciality at the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis. Specialized trainings in the field of Hepato-Gastroenterology in different hospitals in France (Bicêtre Hospital in Kremlin Bicêtre South of Paris, Diaconesses-Croix Saint Simon Hospital in Paris, Louis Pasteur Hospital in Le Coudray in Chartres, Saint André Hospital in Bordeaux, North Hospital in Marseille, Saint Joseph Hospital in Paris). He had completed his degrees in the field of  EUS, Medico-instrumental proctology and Digestive functional explorations. Dr. Guermazi is a member of SNFGE (French Society of Gastroenterology), SFED (French Society of Digestive endoscopy) and ESNM (European Society of Neuro- Gastroenterolgy and Motility).
