Ahmed Mohamed Medra is professor in Department of Cranio-Maxillo-facial, Oral and Plastic Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, at Alexandria University, Egypt. He is doubly qualified. He got the medical Degree (M.B.Ch.B, December 1977). He holds Master Degree in General & Emergency Surgery, in January 1981, Faculty of Medicine Alexandria University. Then he got the Dental Degree (BDS, Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University, 1985). He got Doctorate in Cranio-Maxillofacial, Oral and Plastic Surgery, 1987.

He is the President of the Egyptian Society of Craniofacial maxillofacial Surgeons, since 2009 till now(www.escmfs.com) and the president of the Egyptian Association of Cleft Lip & Palate and Craniofacal Anomalies, from 2012 till now.

He is member of European association of Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgeons, Egyptian Cancer Society, Egyptian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Pan-Arab Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, International Cleft Lip and Palate Foundation etc. He is Chairman of the Alexandria Club of Cranio-Maxillofacial, Oral and Plastic Surgery. He is member of Egyptian Dental Association, Alexandria Oral Implantology Association (AOIA). He has published several scientific papers in International peer reviewed journals. He attended so many conferences in Egypt and in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Hasan Alkumru was appointed as an Associate Professor, Division of Restorative Dentistry, Discipline of Prosthodontics at the University of Western Ontario Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, effective September 1^st, 2014.

Dr. Alkumru received his DDS (1979) in University of Ankara, Faculty of Dentistry and his PhD (1984) in Birmingham University Faculty of Dentistry UK in collaboration with Ankara University. After that he joined to Ankara University, Faculty of Dentistry as an Associate professor until 1998. He became a full time professor in Marmara University, Istanbul and worked as the Head of Department of Prosthodontics and the Vice Dean in between 1999 – 2008.

Dr. Alkumru joined to The University of Toronto in 2009. He was the Head of Department of Prosthodontics, Director of Graduate Prosthodontics Program and Director of Implant Prosthodontics Unit at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry IN BETWEEN 2010 AND 2014. He mentored three master thesis related to implant prosthodontics during his service in UofT. He also worked as a licensed Prosthodontist in Mount Sinai Hospital-Toronto, Dental division. 

Dr. Alkumru is the course director of Second Year Removable Prosthodontics course and also gives several lectures to the third and fourth year students in Restorative Dentistry Courses along with other administrative roles in UWO.

He published more than 50 articles in international journals, was selected as Keynote Speaker in International Congresses and has trained and mentored graduate students in the area of Implant Prosthodontics and Biomaterials research throughout his career. Dr. Alkumru is a licensed Prosthodontist in Canada maintains an active practice in his office in Toronto, Ontario, dedicated to Prosthodontics, Implant Dentistry, and Esthetics.

Dr Attia obtained his B.D.S. of Oral Surgery from the Faculty of Dentistry at the Cairo University in 1991. He received his M.D.S. in Orthodontics in 1996 and his PhD in Orthodontics in 2000 from the Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University.

He works as a Professor of Orthodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry of the Cairo University. He is the former head of Orthodontic Department at Future University in Cairo. He is a lecturer in an accredited program for Morth (Royal College of Edinburg). He is the Chief Editor of Cairo Dental Journal and has published many papers internationally. He practising 3D lingual orthodontics certified in Germany. He is an AAO Ambassador, AAO International Member, WFO Member and an International member of SIDO

Wael M. Al-Omari is the former dean of faculty of dentistry and currently a professor of prosthodontics and dental education at Jordan University of Science and Technology. He mostly engaged in postgraduate teaching and clinical training, though he contribute to undergraduate teaching and training. His research interests include aesthetic  dentistry, implantology, occlusion, biomaterials, and dental education. He also involved in policy making in dentistry in Jordan and one of the founders for the accreditation standards for dental schools. His activities cover a wide range of academic and administrative aspects.

Jinous Tahmassebi BDS (Newcastle), MDentSci (Leeds), FDS RCS (Edinburgh) FRCD (Canada), PhD (Leeds)

Since qualifying Jinous has held NHS, specialist private, community and university posts within the specialties of Paediatric Dentistry. Currently Jinous is an Associate Professor in Paediatric Dentistry and Programme Lead for postgraduates’ programmesin Paediatric Dentistry at Leeds school of dentistry.

Jinous has lectured extensively regionally, nationally and internationally and have provided over 200 courses for postgraduate deaneries around the country including many hands-on courses which are based on research findings and evidence based practice.She is on the editorial Board of European Archives of Paediatric Dentistry Journal (EAPD) and she was appointed as a committee member for the EAPD Education board in 2016. Jinous has been involved in many research studies through her postgraduate and undergraduate students; however her main research focus is sedation and management of anxiety in children. She has published extensively including the use of inhalation sedation in children and also behaviour management techniques.  

Dr Jehad Al Sukhun is a British / Jordanian oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a Master’s degree in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the University of Manchester and a PhD from the University of London in the United Kingdom. He has gained a number of fellowships and professional memberships in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. During his PhD studies at the University of London, Dr Al-Sukhun obtained in-depth knowledge and experience in maxillofacial implantology and and computer aided surgery using Finite Element Analysis.

Dr Al Sukhun worked at well reputed academic University Hospitals in the UK e.g. Royal Manchester University Hospital, Royal Surrey County Hospital, University College Hospital.

Dr Al Sukhun has gained significant clinical experience in specialised dentistry, implantology, oncology, trauma, orthognathic surgery, reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery. He developed particular interest on the use of bioresorbable plates for reconstructing orbital fractures. During his work in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr Al-Sukhun produced more than 40 papers published in an international peer review journals. Dr Al Sukhun sits on the editorial board of a number of well recognized journals in Oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Meltem Koray was graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry in 1989. In 1995 she received her first PhD which was titled ‘The effects of flourides and/or trace elements on the solubilities of enamel and cementum’ at the Department of Restorative Dentistry in the same dentistry faculty. After her first PhD, she studied at the Department of Oral Diagnosis and Radiology between 1996-2001. In 2008 she received her second PhD which was titled ‘The evaluation of oral health related quality of life and anxiety values in patients with active or inactive minor recurrent apthous stomatitis” at the Department of Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine in the same dentistry faculty. In 2010 she gained Associate Professor degree at the department of Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine at Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry. She is a member of TAOMS (Turkish Society of Oral Medicine and Turkish Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons), EAOM (European Association of Oral Medicine), IJOMS (International Journal of Oral an Maxillofacial Surgery) and ACBID (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Society). She is in Editorial Board member of International Journal of Dentistry and Oral Science and Acta Scientific Dental Sciences. Also she is a reviewer many scientific journals. She still works in the same department as an Associate Professor. She has authored more than 70 articles and her articles cited over 250 times.

Dr. Izzet YAVUZ is a lecturer, researcher and an educator Prof. Dr. for Pediatric Dentistry at the Dicle University Faculty of Dentistry in Diyarbakir, Turkey. He is specialized on pediatric dentistry treatments, 3D Cone Beam Dental Volumetric Tomography, ectodermal dysplasia, the effect of magnetic field to the teeth, micro leakage, and trauma on dental roots. He has more than 110 papers that have been published in international and national journals and presented in international and national meetings. Lydia G Katrova graduated in dentistry in 1981, specialized in advanced general dentistry in 1988, got a master‘s degree in social medicine in 1990 and a Ph.D. degree in sociology in 1997, and short-term specializations in France, Germany, and USA-Harvard School of public health. She passed the clinical board examination and qualified for a CDB license for California and the West coast in 2009. Her research production consists of more than 200 works including monographs, textbooks, research papers in Bulgarian, English, and French, and contributions at national and international scientific events. Her professor’s position with her last employer the Medical University of Sofia (till the 5th of September, 2022) included teaching social medicine, public health, dental public health, and dental practice management to 2nd and 3rd-year dental students in Bulgarian and English, to graduate students, and dental practitioners, Bulgarian and international Ph.D. students doctoral theses’ directing, students research groups in “Dental ergonomics”, “Sociological investigations”, and “Research methods” tutoring. She is currently involved in Ph.D. student advising, and Ph.D. theses reviewing.

Lydia Katrova was one of the founders of the Dept. of Dental Public health at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Medical University of Sofia, one of the founders of the Association of French-speaking dentists in Bulgaria, and the Research Group of dental ergonomics. She is an expert in dental education curricula development and institutional and program accreditation abroad. In 2020 her textbook “Essentials of Social Medicine and Medical Ethics”, part one of a trilogy relevant to “Professionalism for dentists” including as well “Essentials of Public Health and Health Management” and “Dental Public Health and Dental Practice Management”. In May 2013 with the students’ research group of dental ergonomics, we had been honored to host in Sofia the Annual congress of the ESDE. Her biography is included in the “Great Bulgarian Doctors” book for 2010. In 2011 had been recognized with the ADEE award for excellence in dental education for mature educators, and the MU "Signum Laudis” for outstanding achievements in research and teaching” in 2012.

Dr. Nejdet Adanir completed Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Faculty of Dentistry at the Hacettepe University, Ankara-Turkey in 1994. He received his PhD in Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics in 2002 from the Faculty of Dentistry, Selcuk University, Konya-Turkey. He worked as an Assistant Professor at Suleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Dentistry, and he was promoted to Associate Professor position in 2009. He has served as Vice Dean and chair of the Department of Endodontics at the Gaziantep University between 2010 and 2013. In 2013, he was appointed as the Dean of Graduate School of Health Sciences and chief physician of faculty hospital, Suleyman Demirel University between 2013-2015. He was appointed as an Associate Professor and coordinator of Department of Restorative Dentistry at the King Faisal University, School of Dentistry since 2017. He is the Editor-in-Chief of European Journal of Dentistry and has published many papers internationally.

Luis C Aranha completed PhD in Materials Sciences (focus biomaterials) IPEN / USP-SP, Master and Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology at Camilo Castelo Branco University, Graduation in Dentistry from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas. He is 1st Lieutenant Dentist of the Brazilian Army Reserve. He is currently Coordinator of postgraduate courses in Implantology and PRF. Collaborating Researcher with a focus on Biomaterials at the Materials Science and Technology Center of the Nuclear and Energy Research Institute. He also works as a scientific consultant in the field of biomaterials. He was president and founder of the Health Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce of Campinas.

Prof. Doina ONISEI (1949) graduated from Timi?oara University of Medicine & Pharmacy “Victor Babe?” (School of Dentistry) in 1973. She received her PhD Degree in 1996 and is specialist in General Dentistry and Periodontology . Untill 1979 she worked like general practitioner in the Dental Public sector. During 1979 - 2016 she has been involved in periodontal education in the Department of Odontology-Periodontologyof the University of Medicine & Pharmacy (School of Dentistry). In 2004 she established the independent Department of Periodontology in the same school.

Dr. Mahmoud Al-Suleiman received his PhD in Orthodontics (Moscow, Russia), 1991. He is a Professor in Orthodontics at the Department of Orthodontics, University of Aleppo Dental School and he was Head of the Orthodontic Department at University of Aleppo, 1993-2005, 2011-2012. Now Consultant Orthodontist at Dental Planet Clinics KSA and Derma zone laser and cosmetic center Dubai UAE. Prof. Dr. Figen SEYMEN was graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 1987 and began working as a PhD student in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in the same year. Dr. Lillian Obucina is an Assistant Professor, Clinical Faculty, at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine, Downers Grove, Illinois. She also owns and operates a general dental practice. Lakefront Dental, in the Chicago Loop for over 25 years. A graduate of Northwestern University Dental School, Dr. Obucina completed post-graduate dental training at Northwestern by obtaining a Certificate in Prosthodontics in 1990. Prosthodontics is one of only nine dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association. She is specially trained in the replacement of missing teeth and the restoration of natural teeth. Dr. Shadia Abdel-Hameed Elsayed, BDS, MSc, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dental Medicine for Girls, Al Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt and Assistant Professor of OMS, College of Dentistry, Taibah University, KSA.

She got her BDS in Oral and Dental Medicine, MSc in Temporomandibular Joint Surgery Dissection Approaches, Cairo University, Doctor's degree (Ph.D.) in Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma Surgery, Al Azhar University. Dr Shadia was trained in Al-Zahraa University Hospital, and in Al-Kasre Al-Aini Medical Hospital. She is Member of the Egyptian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She has experience in electronic interactive teaching methodology. She has publications in peer reviewed international journals with high impact factors.

Jef van der Zel (1947) received his doctoral degree in metallurgy at the Technical University of Delft in 1972. From 1972-1975 he worked as senior research engineer for AngloAmerican in Zambia and returned for 2 years to the the TU Delft in the Department of Material Science. In 1977 he became co-founder and technical director of Elephant Dental BV responsible for the development and production of dental alloys,

porcelain systems, implants and CAD-CAM-technology. In 1989 he obtained his PhD-degree on the thesis entitled “High-temperature behavior of high-palladium dental alloys”. In 1997 he received the King William I award for innovation and technology out of the hands of his royal highness Prince Claus and was knighted to the order of the Dutch Lion by Queen Beatrix. In 2003 he became the first professor in Computerized Dentistry at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). He founded and chaired the ISO/TC106 Ad Hoc 1 Group for standardization of dental CAD/CAM.

He was directly responsible for several developments, of wich the main ones were Carrara/Golden gate system, a rich gold alloy and a low melting veneering ceramic, of which more than 100 million units were produced wordwide, the first light section tabletop scanner, design software including virtual articulation, production methods for veneered restorations by CAD CAM based on alumina (Cicero) and  zirconia (Primero) and a guided implantation method based on 3D optical and X-ray data (Armada). He published more than 100 articles on dental materials and CAD-CAM.

Since being appointed as a Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon at Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and Tameside Foundation Trust, He has established a comprehensive Temporomandibular joint disease and facial pain service to patients across the area as well as helping to expand and build the skin surgery service at Tameside General Hospital.

Ana Pejcic was born in Nis, She enrolled Medical Faculty in Nis in 1993. She graduated faculty in 2000. She started specialization in 2001, which she successfully completed in 2004. She also enrolled Master studies in 2000/2001 in the subject Periodontology and Oral medicine. She acquired her degree of a Master of Science in Periodontology and Oral Medicine in 2005. Her PhD thesis she successfully defended in 2012. She was employed at the Faculty of Medicine from 2001 as „a research assistant“ at the Department of Periodontology and Oral Medicine. In 2006 she restarted working as teaching assistant at the same department. In 2013 she started to work as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Nis. Fabio santos holds a degree in Dentistry from the University of São Paulo's School of Dentistry of Ribeirão Preto (FORP-USP). Prof. Asaad Javaid BDS, MCPS, MDS, FICD graduated as Dentist in 1978 from Liaqaut Medical College Hyderabad, Pakistan and practiced as General Dental Practitioner for 15 years. He Joined teaching as lecturer in 1992 and having passed membership examination (MCPS) in Operative Dentistry from College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in 1995, he was promoted and worked as Assistant Professor for five years and in the year 2000, he got a promotion as Associate Professor. In 2005 after completing MDS degree, he got promoted to position of a Professor in the Dept of Operative Dentistry and worked at Qassim University and Majmmah University, Saudi Arabia as Professor and head of department of Restorative Dental Sciences. As course director, he developed various clinical and preclinical courses in the mentioned specialty. He worked as Principal of Baqai Dental College and Vice Dean of College of Dentistry at Ha’il University, Saudi Arabia. He regularly writes editorials for various journals to highlight important issues concerning dental profession. He has 55 publications including original articles and clinical case reports published in national and international indexed journals. He was awarded Fellowship (FICD) from International College of Dentists USA, keeping in view my services for the profession.
